The weekend. Two days to do anything I want. Not quite. When do we ever do anything, or everything, we want to do? I have had only one goal for weekends for the past two months. Get away! Go somewhere! Do something different! Instead, it's been a little bit of this and that for everyone else. Oh, I've done some things I wanted to do, but not enough. I'm getting selfish. I want more "me" time. Closer to 100% "me" time. I'd even settle for 75% "me" time. Hell, 50% would be a good start right about now.
This weekend I have several things to do that still won't let me reach my goal of getting out of town and doing things I want to do. It's April, so that means it's "tax season" in Canada. I have several tax returns to complete before the 30th. My own included. Also, I have to make an appearance down at the Western Fair Grounds at the annual Home & Garden Show. The company I work for has a big display and I was even given a free entry ticket by my manager. A "hint" to go. Not so subtle, either. Anyway, I'll make the effort and go. And, I'll even make a mental note or two to bring up at one of the many different meetings I attend. Lastly, I have some Spring cleaning to do inside and outside right here. Best to get it over with now, I think, than to leave it and have to do it when I'm on my first week of vacation next month. Vacation is only 4 weeks away! And then there'll be 3 more weeks of vacation throughout the rest of the year. Can't wait for those to come around either.
The weather has been quite nice recently. Mid to high teens celcius. After tomorrow, though, it'll go back into the single digits until next weekend. Gotta keep telling myself "it's only April!"
Some of you might have noticed how excited I was when Wyatt announced that he's back. I was. I am. I enjoyed reading about him when his blog was active, and I'm glad I'll be able to read more about him now that he's active again. He's a remarkable person. Great strength and maturity for someone so young. Actually, he could be described as a role model for a lot of up and coming young people. Especially young gay people. If ever they find themselves slightly off the beaten path, they'd be wise to read how, with a little bit of personal effort, they can get themselves back on track... just like Wyatt did. Read about him and see if I'm not right. (His link is on the left).
Gotta get going. It's almost 7 a.m. and I might just make a trip out to the farmer's market before starting those damn tax returns.
